just wanted to show...


An international research team has proposed new techniques that may lead to the mass production of meat reared not on the farm, but in the laboratory..

oh man, as much as i thought this would be the eventual future...it is just so weird! and if we're going to be growing meat in our labs...then it'll just be a matter of time before they're GMOed and oh man the ruckus that would stir up

i wonder if vegans will eat this...

it probably would depend on the reasons they became a vegetarian in teh first place... but this is really interesting. i would eat it.

I probably wouldn't (I'm mostly vegetarian--I'll still eat some meat products when I don't have much of a choice), but I have taste reasons as well as ethical reasons for not eating meat. I'm also a bit worried about what nasty fake stuff scientists might insert in the meat.

if i was gonna distrust anyone, it'd be the companies or the FDA officials, as they would have the last say as to what we would see on the supermarket shelves, not the scientists

and what do you mean by "nasty fake stuff"? sorry i'm being defensive...but...i hate the reputation science has sometimes!

Well, scientists that work for the companies and the FDA. Not all scientists are evil. It's just that there seem to be more and more artificial ingredients popping up in food, and in the US we aren't really told which products are genetically modified. It's a bit scary.
